Other services
I know what it's like to be a full-time student on a busy course, both from the perspective of being a student and being a lecturer. I also know what it's like to be an older student and working whilst studying, and what it's like to be a digital immigrant! It's not always easy.
That's why my approach is focussed on understanding your needs - and worries - and providing practical solutions which work well for you.

Guest lecturer
I am available to deliver bespoke lectures, either in-person or online, to small or large groups of students, whether they are at Sixth Form*, Further Education or in Higher Education.
Previous lectures have included critical writing skills, designing research projects and how to identify and present your skillset to a potential employer.
*Parental or teacher supervision will be required for under 18s. I have a full enhanced DBS certificate.
Workshops
In-person, or online workshops, are available for a wide variety of topics, including:
- Introduction to Academic Writing
- Advanced academic writing
- Research projects for undergraduates
- CV and job application support
1-2-1 Sessions
1-2-1 sessions are available to help you with any aspect of assignment writing or interpreting feedback. I can also help you with updating your CV or proofreading your job application.
This service is available via Teams or Zoom, and can be a one-off, intermittent or ongoing basis.
I'm also happy to discuss any other, more bespoke needs that you might have.
Send me a no-obligation message and we'll have a chat.
"I really needed to update my CV to apply for a new job, but it was ages since I'd last done it and I didn't know where to start. Alison helped me identify my skills, remove unnecessary words, and showed me how to write and present it really nicely so that it matched up with the person specification. I feel much more confident, and I got the job! Thank you!"
